April 17, 2012

Enform Nisku Training Campus

This introductory classroom course is designed for personnel who are responsible for safely responding to and managing oil and saltwater spills to land in the upstream petroleum industry.

The course covers the information that is necessary for responders to conduct safe and effective clean-up operations and to develop and implement cost-effective remediation and reclamation plans for the spill.

Topics covered include spill preparedness, hazard assessment and site safety, containment and recovery techniques, and remediation and reclamation assessment.  Various techniquest will be employed to demonstrate the behaviour of a land spill, as well as the proper equipment to consider as response tools.

Note:

WCSS strongly recommends that students take the WCSS Spill Responder course prior to taking this course.
