Surface H2O Oscar

This course is designed for industry personnel, contractors, and government personnel who are responsible for responding to spills in surface water (rivers, lakes, sloughs).

Oil spills that enter a watercourse have the potential to cause very serious and widespread damage to the environment. Having an effective response strategy and properly trained response personnel can greatly enhance a company's response capability and reduce environmental liability.

Course participants are provided with the information and hands-on experience that will enable them to effectively contain and recover an oil spill into surface water. The course includes information on spill response techniques and equipment deployment options for various environmental and climatic conditions. In addition to lectures, the course includes a case history, a workshop and an actual on-water equipment deployment exercise.

Note: Attendees are required to bring their own personal protective equipment (fire-retardant outer work wear, hard hat, protective footwear, safety glasses, and appropriate work wear for anticipated weather conditions) for the deployment exercise on day two.
